What does Dysfunctional Development look like?
Many companies experience problems resulting from how their teams go about developing products. Sometimes a company hasn’t defined a cultural “Our Way” that enables them to work together as well as work with their vendors. Sometimes this is a symptom that the company has “grown too quickly”. At other times, a company has trouble quickly establishing a development approach because of new regulatory constraints in their market. Companies often don’t keep up with industry best practices.
Unfortunately, many companies take the approach of trying to “turn the crank harder, not smarter”. They don’t consider how to improve their capabilities. Do you recognize these symptoms in your company? Start by using the above list to work with your management, or the teams you manage.
