Many companies experience problems resulting from how their teams go about developing products. Sometimes a company hasn’t defined a cultural “Our Way” that enables them to work together as well as work with their vendors.  Sometimes this is a symptom that the company has “grown too quickly”.   At other times, a company has trouble quickly establishing a development approach because of new regulatory constraints in their market.  Companies often don’t keep up with industry best practices.

Unfortunately, many companies take the approach of trying to “turn the crank harder, not smarter”.  They don’t consider how to improve their capabilities.  Do you recognize these symptoms in your company?  Start by using the above list to work with your management, or the teams you manage.

If you need solutions, Suttons Creek can help.

Please feel free to email us at if you have additional items you think need to be added to these lists.  We will address those in future posts.   In addition, please ask if you’d like to receive more information on our assessments.

Suttons Creek is excited to announce that Managing Partner, Steven Badelt, PhD has been invited to speak at the Incose IW 2016 Conference to be held January 30 – February 2, at Marriott Torrance, in Torrance, California.

A recognized expert in the pharmaceutical and biomedical field, Steven Badelt, Phd, will be discussing the intricacies of Systems Engineering applied to the Healthcare domain.  In this example, a workshop will focus on applying systems approaches to the hospital emergency department.  Says Dr. Badelt, “As Industry Ambassador for the INCOSE Healthcare Working Group, I see this workshop as exciting for the domain, as well as the participants. We’re bringing individuals to the discussion from diverse perspectives.  Medical device professionals are meeting with hospital administrators.  ER staff are meeting risk management professionals.  Modeling and Systems Engineers are learning to apply their skills in new and exciting ways!”
