Steven W. Badelt, PhD
Managing Partner and Founder
Steven W. Badelt, PhD in Neuroengineering, is the Founder of Suttons Creek, Inc. Steve has 20 years system engineering and medical device experience, and has consulted startups, venture-backed mid-sized, and Fortune 50 companies.
Steve leads the Suttons Creek team and the overall development of the agency, and is a recognized figure in the systems engineering community, regularly working with AAMI, INCOSE and related organizations.
John C. Mueller, BS in Nuclear Engineering, MBA, is a former Senior Director at Medtronic with over 30 years of expertise in the leadership and management of high technology projects including Submarine and Nuclear Reactor Operations, High Energy Laser Weapon Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, and Medical Device Product Development.
John leads our team in cross functional Product Development including initial team formation and roles, market and product definition, systems engineering, design trades, verification and validation.
Jared Seehafer, MS in Medical Device Engineering, is a former software engineer and medical device product manager with a background in the development of Class III implantable medical devices, especially neuromodulation and drug delivery technology.
Jared provides leadership in SCI’s product definition/initiation efforts, software consulting, and combination product regulatory submissions. He writes and lectures on the topic of integrating marketing and engineering organizations via the use a strong product management function.
Adam Atherton, PE
Adam Atherton, PE, is a systems engineering veteran with 23 years experience stretching across the aerospace and medical device industries. Formerly a senior engineer with the Department of Defense, Adam has since been a senior systems engineer with St. Jude Medical, Director at Boston Scientific and Principal Consultant at Medtronic.
Adam leads our requirements management and definitions group, and provides training to companies of all sizes on how to write requirements.
Laura Yamada is a regulatory expert with 15+ years experience in the development of Class II-III medical devices and combination products. Prior to consulting, Laura was a Director of Regulatory Affairs for St. Jude Medical. Currently she advises companies of all sizes on regulatory strategy and the development of submissions.
Laura leads our regulatory science team.
